Hello. I’m Kieran Osborne and I’m the Founder of Squiggle.
And my mission is to transform the experience of writing a will.
Leaving a legacy should be more than transactions, legal documents and family squabbles about who gets what.
Those closest to you will remember you, your stories and what you stand for long after you’ve passed away. And what you pass onto your loved ones could just be the catalyst for them to put into motion a new dream or project that allows them to leave their own legacy one day.
I strongly believe that this is more than just writing a will. The history of mankind is all about passing down meaning, stories and possibilities from one generation to the next. That’s why we take your business so personally and why I’m on a mission to help modernise the estate planning industry.
My Backstory
I’m well recognised in this industry after trying to take a different approach to estate planning for well over a decade.
My journey to Squiggle started in the banking industry, where I used to advise the directors of small businesses for several years. During that time, I became very familiar with the struggles and stories of everyday men and women in small businesses. And these stories were at odds with the banking industry’s relentless focus on profit margins, metrics and data. So, when I was headhunted for a senior client-facing role in the legal industry, I didn’t hesitate to make a move in a quest to make more of an impact.
However, even though I felt that I was in a more “caring” industry, I was surprised at just how archaic this sector was as well. I saw so many things that needed to be shaken up – poor technology, little or no transparency and an unwieldy experience for the customer with bottlenecks everywhere. That was when I decided to found Squiggle – to take these challenges head on and provide the customer with an entirely new experience.
